This can be exploited to level up fast. The new download content takes place in Aegrus, which is in uncharted territory in the swamps of Pandora. It is possible to spawn several Mutated Badass Varkids, as long as the mutated varkid samples are not taken.
The Mutated Badass Varkids give as much experience as Super Badass Varkids. The pods may not display as interactive, but using the action key on them will still spawn a mutant. Exiting Tundra Express, or reloading the game, should make subsequent pods interactive, thus allowing the mission to progress. There is a bug that causes the Mutated Varkid to despawn if players move far enough away from it, causing the "Kill Mutated Varkid" objective to become unbeatable.
Interestingly Nisha is an Indian (Asian, not Native American) playing a cowboy. Not so easily seen in crappy youtube vids. Now it is a mere inventory item, waiting to be picked up. Easily seen with high-res, especially in TPS.
Mutated Varkid Sample: This used to be attached to a varkid. Evolutionary Injector: Wield the power of Darwin in your hands!. Which would have been kind of poignant, had his immediate reaction not been "oh god kill all of them ew ew ew ew." This can be fixed by saving and reloading the game.Ĭompletion "You've helped Sir Hammerlock realize that nature isn't always beautiful. Also, one problem that might occur is that the sample they drop might get stuck inside the tunnel wall if they are killed when clipping through the wall, making the item impossible to retrieve. This can be avoided by keeping distance when they are stuck at the tunnel entrance. On rare occasions, they can get inside the Observatory by flying and clipping through the upper wall of the tunnel. The Mutated Badass Varkids cannot get inside the tunnel, while their ranged attack is blocked most of the time and is easy to dodge otherwise. It is best to disable the electric fence then take out all the bandits in there first, although this step might not be necessary. If these enemies prove too hard to take down, a good place to fight them is inside the Varkid Ranch Observatory, past the "Caution" signboard. In order to study it further however, he then sets a task to repeat the process with four more varkids. Sir Hammerlock remarks on how hideous the abomination is and requests that it then be killed. Once the pod is injected, it creates a Mutated Badass Varkid instead of a regular adult varkid, which is a strong version of a varkid and can deal and resist corrosive damage. When a larval or blood varkid changes to adult pod, interact with it. Although the default location is Tundra Express, the mission can be continued in Caustic Caverns as well as the Natural Selection Annex. Badass pods won't work." Walkthrough ObjectivesĪfter taking the injector from Sir Hammerlock in Sanctuary, the next step is to find varkids. He agrees to repair Claptrap 's eye after the Vault Hunters clear out Liar's Berg, and then begins to send the Vault Hunters out on various research expeditions on the local fauna for his as yet unpublished almanac. Be careful, though a varkid won't morph if it is the last one alive, and you can only inject regular varkid pods. Sir Hammerlock is the first friendly human encountered in Borderlands 2, trapped in Southern Shelf while researching bullymongs. Background "Sir Hammerlock would like you to find some varkids in Tundra Express, force them to morph, and then inject their cocoons with a special serum so he can study their morphing qualities.
